What is the SUSBIO ECOTREAT Packaged STP?
ECOTREAT is a factory-built sewage treatment plant — every component (screening, equalisation, anaerobic reactor, MBBR aeration, settler, disinfection) is pre-assembled, pre-tested and shipped inside a single fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) vessel from our Pune facility. On site, it's lowered into a PCC pit, plumbed in, and producing reuse-grade water within a working week.
Designed for Indian conditions — peak monsoon load, intermittent power, hard-water inlet — and certified to CPCB and all SPCB discharge norms. ECOTREAT replaces the civil-RCC STP that took 6 weeks, leaked after 3 years and required a full-time operator.

ECOTREAT integrates physical, biological and disinfection stages that conventional STPs split across multiple tanks and civil structures. The result: less footprint, fewer interfaces, more reliable BOD/COD removal.

It treats sewage to CPCB Class A norms and is available from 1 KLD to 500 KLD in two form factors — Capsule (1–20 KLD) and Cylinder (20–500 KLD).

How is ECOTREAT different from a conventional civil RCC STP?
A civil RCC STP is built on site over 4–8 weeks, uses Activated Sludge Process aeration, requires a permanent operator and tends to leak after 5–8 years as the concrete ages. ECOTREAT is delivered fully assembled in an FRP shell, installed in 3–5 days, runs anaerobic + MBBR (lower energy, lower sludge), needs no on-site operator, and lasts 25 years sealed underground.
Is the treated water safe for reuse?
Yes. Outlet quality is BOD < 10 mg/L, COD < 50 mg/L, TSS < 10 mg/L, faecal coliform < 100 MPN — exceeding CPCB Class A. Approved (per NGT 2019) for toilet flushing, gardening, landscape irrigation, cooling-tower make-up, floor & vehicle washing and construction curing.
What capacity range is available, and how do I pick the right one?
Capsule type: 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 20 KLD (villas, small hotels, offices). Cylinder type: 20, 25, 50, 100, 200, 300, 500 KLD (apartments, hospitals, factories, IT parks). Sizing is based on Person Equivalent at 200 LPCD plus 20% margin. Our engineer sends a sizing sheet within 24 hours of your enquiry.
Where can ECOTREAT be installed — above or below ground?
Both. Cylinder type is most often installed semi-buried under a parking deck, garden setback or terrace. Capsule type is typically above-ground or in a service-yard pit. The FRP shell is corrosion-proof, watertight and rated for 25-year buried service.
Does it really not need a full-time operator?
Correct. ECOTREAT runs on a PLC with set-point automation, IoT remote monitoring, alerts and OCEMS-ready data feed. SUSBIO's AMC team checks the plant monthly, removes excess sludge every 6–12 months, and intervenes remotely or on-site if any KPI drifts.
Is ECOTREAT CPCB approved?
Yes — every ECOTREAT unit is CPCB approved at the product level and complies with all State Pollution Control Board norms (MPCB, GPCB, KSPCB, TNPCB, DPCC, GSPCB and others). SUSBIO assists with Consent to Establish (CTE) and Consent to Operate (CTO) applications at no extra cost.
How long does installation take?
3–5 working days from delivery to commissioning for capacities up to 50 KLD; 7–14 days for 100–500 KLD. Civil base preparation runs in parallel with manufacture, so the project clock is typically 3 weeks from PO to keys.
What warranty and after-sales service do I get?
10-year warranty on the FRP shell and MBBR media, plus SUSBIO's lifetime service commitment — pan-India AMC, spares, IoT diagnostics and revamp support.
How much sludge does it generate, and how is it disposed?
Roughly 30% less excess sludge than a conventional ASP plant of equivalent capacity. Sludge is dewatered in a sludge-drying bed or filter press and either composted on-site (preferred) or carted to an authorised hazardous-waste handler.
Can ECOTREAT replace an existing STP that isn't working?
Yes. SUSBIO offers revamp services — we decommission the failed civil STP, repurpose the existing equalisation tank where structurally sound, and drop in an ECOTREAT package that uses the existing inlet/outlet plumbing. Typical revamp project: 2–3 weeks, 30–50% cheaper than a green-field rebuild.
What about power outages? Does the plant cope?
ECOTREAT is designed for India's grid. The equalisation tank gives 4–8 hours of buffer, and the MBBR biofilm survives 24+ hours of aeration interruption without performance loss. Most installations include a small backup generator (3–10 kVA) sized just for the blower.
